Pottery Beginners Course
- Starting in the New Year (dates and times TBC)
- 6 places available
- to be held at Ralph Jandrell Pottery, Chirbury, Shropshire
- a series of 6 x 2 hr learning lessons on the basics of making pottery in a studio environment
- led by Ralph Jandrell
To include-
- Week 1 Introduction to pottery. Health and Safety. Studio tour.
- Week 2 Handbuilding. Modelling, coiling, slabwork.
- Week 3 Slip casting. Casting, fettling
- Week 4 Throwing. Instruction and have a go throwing . I have 2 wheels
- Week 5 Hand decorating. Demonstration and have a go at slip decoration
- Week 6 Firing and glazing. Unveiling of the finished work! Close.
When you have completed the pottery beginners course, you will have a good understanding of the basics of making pottery in a potter’s studio.
If you have enjoyed your experience and wish to continue your pottery journey, you will be eligible to join the pottery class, where you may begin to explore your own ideas and creations in more depth, in a guided environment.
